I need strength- One more big conference to go … Saturday - Sunday.  The good news is that we have a refrig in one of the rooms, so I am bringing tons of good foods for me to eat.  I am also going to workout on Sunday of the conference and try to do one more day (I always get so tired).

I am so excited that this is the last one!  Cannot wait for August!  Routine is good!

I worked out with Darrell for a half hour at the Y.  Still doing Weight Watchers.  I’ve lost 7 lbs.  Darrell has lost 13.  Yay!

Unmotivated July 16, 2008

I am usually not unmotivated to workout.  But the past two days, I have just not had the energy nor the desire to workout!  I am not sure why and I am annoyed about it.  I usually like to take advantage of all the days that I can workout!  But, these past two days, I just really don’t care.

I know that I have said it a thousand times this summer but  the summer is so hard.  Being in education means that my routine is totally different in the summer.  A different routine means that things are harder for me - harder to stay on schedule, harder to maintain consistency, hard to be focused.  It especially takes a toll on my workout schedule and eating plan.  It is also so hot - so hot that I am exhausted!

I know that working out asap in the morning works best for me - that is something that I need to be sure that I do on days likes these.  I know that tomorrow, I have a workout date with my friend Janet - which will keep me motivated.

I am looking for motivation.  I have to go to a conference again starting on Saturday - so I am looking for motivation and scheduling workouts until then so I can go to the conference ready and fit.

Keep you posted …

Maintaining! July 13, 2008

I had stated earlier in the summer that my goal was to maintain through all my traveling.  I am pleased to say that I have been able to maintain.  I am pleased because the bulk of my travel is complete - though I do still have three more trips to go.  One is a long work trip and two are quick family trips.

My continuing goal is to maintain throughout July by eating the best I can and working out each day that I can.  In August, I will change my strategy to get off the 20lbs that I want to lose by April.

Just wanted to keep you posted!  Thank you for all the encouragement!

Darrell and I went to the gym together today.  We were there for a half hour and I did the treadmill.  I did a jog/walk.

I am so excited to be home for two straight weeks!

The holiday eating went better than expected.  I eat little bits of everything that my mom prepared but nothing overboard or crazy.  I was disappointed that I forgot my workout shoes but I was glad to take daily walks with my girlfriend Lena.

I am excited to eat at home, workout daily and just get into routine for the next two weeks.  I also cannot wait for August - that is when my schedule get backs to normal and I can focus again on eating well and working out.

We had some friends over for dinner.  We made them something different than what we ate.  We also gave them all of the left overs to take home so that we wouldn’t be tempted.  Our food was delicious though!  We had whole wheat pasta with ground chicken and an a la vodka marinara sauce and a great spinach salad.  We even resisted the strawberry cheesecake and opted for healthier alternatives… Darrell had fresh strawberries with a hint of splenda and I had a weight watchers toffee ice cream bar… 2 points and it tasted like a dream… I didn’t suffer too much! :)

So at Weight Watchers they discussed eating for holidays.  Darrell and I were very, very good.  We didn’t cheat at all.  Darrell has actually lost 7 lbs. in one week!  I’m so proud of him!  I’m finding the program to be wonderful!

On the exercise note… I did 45 minutes in the gym today.  30 on the treadmill and 15 on the elliptical.  We also did tons of extra walking today.  We walked the Millenia Mall to find Byron a birthday gift.  Then we walked to and from the Bledsoe’s house tonight to celebrate the fourth with a large group of friends!  It was so much fun!  Happy 4th!

Conference Eating/Holiday Eating July 2, 2008

Conference Eating - did better than I had done in the past.  Still had dessert (it is a conference must ;o) but was able to limit the amount of food that I ate all day.

Conference Exercise - did not get to workout officially.  But, I walked tons and tons of steps each day all through the conference and the hotel!

Holiday Eating and Working out - we are spending the holiday with my family.  My goal is to workout each day that we are gone.  My goal is to do as I did at the conference - reduce the overall amount of food that I eat and enjoy the holiday!

Making good choices! June 29, 2008

My goal is to make good choices over the next week!

I am away Sunday - Wednesday at our big conference of the year. Then on Thursday, Bry and I drive back down to Ft Lauderdale for the holiday weekend with my family until Monday.

I want to workout as much as possible - everyday except for Monday and Tuesday.

I want to make the best food choices possible.

All this traveling is killing my stomach! I went shopping for the conference - water, bananas, nuts and protien bars. That will take care of breakfast and a snack. The rest of the time, I will eat out. It is hard because these conferences tend to be stressful and I crave chocolate.

Cannot wait for being home for a while. I will have two weeks before I have travel again.

The summer is hard!
